The Tomb of the Lord of Sipán is the 1,700-year-old burial site of an important governor of the ancient Moche civilization. Remarkably preserved, the excavation revealed his noble attire and accessories including necklaces, breastplates, ear spools, nose rings, helmets, bracelets and scepters made of gold and silver, amazing pieces that you’ll see in the Tumbas Reales Museum built specially to house these treasures.. You will also visit the Tucume Pyramids, an important ceremonial complex of 26 pyramids constructed nearly 1,000 years ago. Trujillo

Start your discoveries today with two remarkable adobe pyramids built around 500 A.D., the Temple of the Sun and the Temple of the Moon. Not far away, Huanchaca is the main port in this region established in 1383 by the Incas. The highlight of the day’s sightseeing will of course be Chan Chan, one of the most important archaeological sites in all of Peru. This enormous adobe city in the Moche Valley was the capital of the Chimú Empire which flourished before the Inca conquest and at one time stretched for nearly 600 miles along the northern coast of Peru. After sightseeing, transfer to the airport for an evening flight for your onward journey. Meals L
